Not long ago, the Ether.Camp team announced a hackathon with a $50,000 prize for first place winners.’s second hackathon has already acquired almost 600 developers who have all gathered into camps based around their ideas that are later brought to life. This hackathon is certainly for people who are hoping to create innovative Dapps and tech built off of the Ethereum platform. Currently, each camp has about four people, with 184 ideas and counting. Each team shares their source code repository and communication channels. As the event unfolds, audience members can watch the progress and interact with the teams directly.

The Event Feed:

The event feed provides a live update on all types of activity for the duration of the hackathon:

  • New camp joins the scoreboard
  • New team member joins a camp
  • Camp publishes a presentation
  • Camps making public announcements
  • New funding for a camp
  • Judging votes
  • Etc. notes that a system where teams will be able to have their own page and buttons to add members will be available soon. However, it is advised that developers focus on actually getting to know people beyond the hackathon boundaries to generate their camps.

“The scoreboard is the main place to get a comprehensive overview of all the competing camps. The camp in the first place at the end of the event will win the overall prize.”

All the judges on the roster are well-known and experienced entrepreneurs. Each judge has the portion of votes to award the camps they favor the most. Voting is done on the blockchain which allows transparency.

Developers can enter in three easy steps:

  1. Setup your camp
  2. Gather your team
  3. Code and win
