IOTA has officially announced the launch of the MOVEATHON Hackathon in collaboration with AngelHack. Today, March 3, 2025, registration is open to developers and teams to build using the Move programming language on the IOTA network. Offering over $150,000 in prizes, the hackathon aims to ignite innovation and introduce new utilities to the ecosystem.

According to the official announcement, the MOVEATHON will be a gateway to the future dev environment of IOTA’s next generation. The event will include workshops, AMAs, and mentoring for the attendees.
The hackathon follows a fixed schedule with key dates leading up to the final showcase in Singapore on June 6, 2025. Surprisingly, travel costs of up to $500 per person will be covered for leading teams.
The competition is structured around four main tracks, and contestants are encouraged to build applications around payments, tokenization, DeFi solutions, and infrastructure tooling. A community winner will also be awarded based on live voting, with an emphasis on fostering interaction and collaboration among developers.
Top Three MOVEATHON Winners to Share $75,000 Prize Pool
The MOVEATHON prize money will be distributed among a series of categories to facilitate broad participation and acknowledge outstanding projects. The top three overall winners will receive $35,000, $25,000, and $15,000, respectively.
Each of the four competition tracks comes with rewards ranging from $2,000 to $8,000, and the winners of the bonus missions will split $15,000. The community favorite will receive a special $5,000 award sponsored by the Tangle Community Treasury DAO.

IOTA’s decision to incorporate the Move programming language indicates a path of greater flexibility and security for decentralized applications. By providing resources and financial incentives, MOVEATHON aims to attract developers who are ready to push the boundaries of blockchain utility.
IOTA Surges 32% as Trading Volume Spikes Over 685%

Weekly increases are also substantial, with the price increasing by 10%. The trading volume has increased by 685.55% to $279.5 million over the last day.

Key technical levels point to continued bullish momentum. Support is between $0.2500 and $0.2600, and resistance is expected at $0.2800 and $0.3000.
