Chiliz and SBI Digital Asset Holdings (SBI DAH) have announced a partnership to create a joint venture in Japan, bringing fan tokens of major football clubs to Japanese sports enthusiasts.

The collaboration aims to enhance fan engagement by providing access to tokens from teams like AC Milan, Inter Milan, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal. These tokens will give Japanese fans opportunities to participate in club decisions and access rewards.
SBI DAH, the digital asset arm of SBI Holdings, will work with Chiliz, a blockchain provider for sports and entertainment. Together, they plan to introduce a new fan engagement platform that enables trading of fan tokens. These tokens will allow fans to vote on club-related matters and gain exclusive benefits, including rewards and game-day activities.
The joint venture will be part of Chiliz’s global network, offering Japanese fans the chance to join worldwide sports communities. With over 50 million customers, SBI will support the integration of Japanese fans into this international network.
SBI DAH also plans to become a node operator on the Chiliz Chain, a blockchain system designed for sports and entertainment. This move will give the company a role in managing the Chiliz Web3 ecosystem and in developing Web3 products for sports and entertainment brands in Japan.
Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz, sees this partnership as an opportunity to expand blockchain use in sports entertainment in Japan. He praised the skills of Japanese developers and noted that this collaboration would provide the tools needed for building new digital sports experiences.
