- HIVE completed Yguazú’s second phase, adding 200 MW hydroelectric power and surpassing 18 EH/s global bitcoin mining capacity.
- Company now mines over 8.5 BTC daily, valued at $6.6 million, using Bitmain Antminer S21+ Hydro equipment.
HIVE Digital Technologies has completed the second phase of its mining center in Yguazú, Paraguay, bringing its global computing capacity above 18 exahashes per second (EH/s).
The company reported the installation of Bitmain Antminer S21+ Hydro equipment, which now enables daily production of over 8.5 bitcoin. At current market prices, this equals approximately 6.6 million dollars in value.
HIVE has completed its Phase 2 expansion at the Yguazú site in Paraguay ahead of schedule, while also exceeding 18 EH/s of global Bitcoin mining capacity during the past week. 🐝https://t.co/fMJcBBV3sQ

The expansion adds 200 megawatts (MW) of hydroelectric power sourced from the Itaipú dam, one of the largest renewable facilities in the world. With this setup, HIVE measures a fleet efficiency of about 18.5 joules per terahash (J/TH), reflecting the balance between power consumption and available computing performance.
The company stresses that all operations in Paraguay are supported by renewable energy, an element that strengthens its operational model in a sector highly dependent on energy supply.
The next step in HIVE’s plan is already underway in Valenzuela
This third phase involves another 100 MW of electrical infrastructure and the arrival of additional ASICs, most of which have already been shipped and paid for. Construction is expected to conclude by late November, after which the company forecasts a combined capacity of 25 EH/s. According to its estimates, this would allow production of roughly 12 bitcoin per day, close to 3% of the network’s global processing power.
Operational costs tied to this expansion remain within the annual budget, with electricity expenses scaling proportionally to the number of active machines. Capital expenditures, including equipment and construction, were also anticipated.
With Yguazú completed and Valenzuela progressing, Paraguay becomes a key element in HIVE’s mining strategy. Access to abundant hydroelectric energy positions the country as an efficient base for large-scale bitcoin mining, reinforcing its relevance in the crypto industry.
