  • Ripple celebrates 48,108 classroom projects and 2,300 new teachers supported through its $25 million donation.
  • The fintech company hopes to inspire more institutions to be involved in supporting the education sector.

Last year, Ripple made a $25 million commitment to support the education sector in America. The donation was made through DonorsChoose and Teach For America, two organizations that have been championing students’ success. A year later, Ripple has shared the results of its commitments.

The fintech company has revealed that $15 million donated through DonorsChoose helped complete 48,108 classroom projects across all 50 states. Ripple noted that the projects were requested by teachers, ensuring they were impactful. Furthermore, 86% of the projects were done in schools where more than half of the students are from low-income households.

Alix Guerrier, CEO of DonorsChoose, noted:

“It wasn’t just the scale of Ripple’s commitment that stood out. It was the clarity of intention and focus on impact. That clarity made it possible for us to steward a gift of this size with confidence and deliver meaningful results for teachers and students across the country,”

Ripple’s Culture of Giving

Ripple was also keen on supporting teachers, spending $10 million on stipends for 2,300 new TFA teachers that reached 141,600 students. Across the board, 270,600 students received financial literacy resources. Additionally, Ripple launched a Blockchain Bootcamp series at U.S. high schools. The company believes that this will help educate students about crypto and blockchain, preparing them for an onchain economy.

The $25 million commitment was largely settled in RLUSD, making it one of the largest stablecoin grants to nonprofits in history. It was also one of the largest donations received by DonorsChoose. For its work, Ripple won the Community Voice Award and a Bronze for Best Education Initiative at the Anthem Awards.

Ripple is now calling on other institutions to get involved in supporting education in America. For long, the sector has been underfunded, leading to a shortage in teachers, lacking beasic learning resources, and shutdowns of key programs. With this program, Ripple is further championing financial literacy for greater opportunities later in adulthood.

Since its launch, Ripple has adopted a culture of giving back to society. Some reports show that since 2018, the company has donated more than $200 million to nonprofit organizations and universities worldwide. One key initiative is “Ripple Impact,” where the company matches 2:1 in employee charitable donations.

XRP Price Outlook

At the time of writing, XRP is trading for $1.38 after a nearly 3% drop in the last 24 hours. The altcoin has been facing rejection at the $1.45 level, which could trigger a 20% short term rally. This could be key to taking back 4th position in market cap ranking, after recently falling behind BNB.

With the XRP spot ETF showing consistent inflows, it reflects institutional appetite and a positive long-term outlook.
